Affected both at its properties and by
the decline in occupancy, in the aftermath of the December
26th tsunami, plus intensive market competition in terms of
pricing among hotel accommodation, Club Andaman Beach Resort
being located on a famous beach of Phuket's Patong beach,
has spent around 100 million baht to improve its premises
and amenities, ready to welcome tourists for the up coming
high season.
Commenting on the outlook of tourism, the hotel's
General Manager Mongkol Boonporn believes that holiday
makers will return to the island during this tourist season
in November. He said the hotel has had a major face lift
with new look to serve customers. "These include
re-landscaping, decorating its garden in Japanese style,
improving the swimming pool area, walkways, parking lots,
putting in waterfalls, a new lighting system in harmony with
natural beauty, as well as adding advanced technology in its
conference room facilities", he said.
After the December 26th incident, Club Andaman Beach Resort
removed 15 of its beach front bungalows and re-furnished the
remaining 37. It also added 75 more guest rooms on the main
building, using P49 company as the designer. Over 2 million
baht was specially spent on the Deluxe, Junior and Royal
Suites which are decorated in luxurious, spacious styles
with all new and classy furniture, ready to serve VIP
guests.
The hotel is also adding excitement to Patong beach
by introducing its up market shopping and entertainment
centre, 'Andaman Bazaar' project, expected to open this high
season. Located on 4 rai of land on the beach road, it
carries a unique style of open spaces for shops, the only
one in Patong to attract middle to high end shoppers. The
project construction is now 50% in progress.
"The hotel's total new face lift highlights the
beauty and modernity which expects to impress tourists and
overseas agents", said Mr. Boonporn, who also insists that
the hotel treats safety as its priority, as Patong now has
an early warning tower, evacuation drills with efficient
emergency action plans to assure residents and visitors of
the highest safety standard.
